BOAT INTERNATIONAL WORLD SUPERYACHT AWARDS BESTOWED UPON PERINI NAVI S/Y SEAHAWK THE JUDGE’S SPECIAL PRIZE FOR THE VOYAGER AWARDS

Just days ago, the Judges of the World Superyacht Awards bestowed upon SY Seahawk  the Special Voyager’s Award.

This award comes after an unexpected Owner’s experience, accordingly to what reported by Boat International, organizer of the World Superyacht Awards.

As a matter of fact, the Owners were cruising the Caribbean when Seahawk got trapped in Bonaire due to the Covid-19 restrictions.

During that unlikely moment they got involved in supporting local animal sanctuary who were struggling for help. They made a generous donation and didn’t mind getting their hands dirty and got to work with the locals right away.

Their initial plan was to cruise for the next seven years with a goal to assist marine science and coast community life.  The Covid 19 didn’t stop their project, once the restrictions were lifted, they returned to the Caribbean, and they made a large donation to St Vincent’s Health Authority. And to further fulfil their goals they also help YachtAid Global with aid in the Galápagos Islands and help marine conservationists Migramar in investigating pelagic migration patterns.

The judges felt that the owners’ philanthropic aims are outstanding and well worthy of a Special Award.

SY Seahawk is a 60m ketch with naval architecture by Perini Navi in collaboration with Ron Holland and Interiors by Christian Liaigre.  Since her delivery in 2013, Seahawk has intensively sailed between the Caribbean Sea and the Mediterranean.
