THE ITALIAN SEA GROUP – Visit of the U.S. Consul General
The Consul General of the United States of America in Florence, Ragini Gupta, welcomed by the Chairman of The Italian Sea Group Filippo Menchelli, visited the representative Headquarters of the Group in Marina di Carrara.
During his career, the Consul General was assigned to US missions in Jordan, Mexico, Pakistan, and India.
Accompanied by Top Management to visit all the areas of the shipyard, Consul General Gupta showed great interest in The Italian Sea Group’s plan for development in the USA. Indeed, the Group is implementing its commercial expansion plan, launched at the beginning of the summer with the opening of the first flagship store in East Hampton, Long Island, the reference area for yachting in the American East Coast.
Consul General Gupta commented on the visit as follows: “Ever since I arrived in Florence, I have had the privilege of observing the work of Tuscan companies and entrepreneurs and of witnessing our very strong bilateral relations. Foreign investments from the United States to Tuscany are substantial: in the 2020-2022 period there were 19 large American investments in Tuscany, for an estimated capital investment of at least 250 million euros. The same is true for investments by Tuscan companies in the United States: the US continues to be the first country of destination for foreign direct investments from Tuscany. During my recent visit to Marina di Carrara, I had the pleasure of learning more about The Italian Sea Group, a company that represents Tuscan excellence and is expanding in the United States “.
